7,000 Transporters Get Ticket for Overcharging Passengers on Eid

Rs. 3.9 million was Returned to Passengers who were Overcharged by Transporters.

National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has fined around 7,000 transporters for overcharging passengers during Eid-ul-fitr.

The Motorway Police took action following complaints of passengers for overcharging by transporters.

As a result of NH&MP’s proactive measures, over Rs. 3.9 million was returned to passengers who were overcharged by transporters during Eid.

Additionally, Rs. 11 million fine was imposed to 6,935 public service vehicles for overcharging and overloading.

To further enhance safety measures, additional officers and special squads were deployed at various points to address any untoward situations.
