Security forces have killed nine terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations in different areas of Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, security sources said on Tuesday.

According to security sources, an operation was conducted on a tip-off in a mountainous area between Ziarat and Harnai, where security forces surrounded and effectively targeted a suspected terrorist hideout.

Eight terrorists were killed in the operation, while their hideout was also destroyed, the sources said.

In a separate operation in Hajika village of Surab district, security forces killed another terrorist.

The forces established a cordon between Dasht Katai and Hajika and tracked the movement of the suspected terrorist before carrying out the operation, according to security sources.

A large quantity of ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, walkie-talkies, a motorcycle and other equipment was recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.

Security sources said the forces remained committed to continuing intelligence-based operations across Balochistan until terrorism was eliminated and lasting peace was established in the province.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful operations and paid tribute to their efforts in the fight against terrorism.

The latest operations came a day after security forces killed two terrorists and wounded three others during an intelligence-based operation in the Killi Zaik area of Balochistan.

One of the terrorists killed in that operation was identified as Mushtaq Ahmed alias Koh Yar.

Ammunition, magazines, hand grenades and explosives were also recovered from the slain terrorist, according to security sources.
