Midfielder Zain-ul-Abideen signs up for Afghanistan’s football club, Abu Muslim FC, ahead of the upcoming Afghanistan league season.

Zain is poised to make his mark for the Farah-based club in the third season of the Afghanistan Champions League (ACL), joining forces with fellow Pakistani winger, Shayek Dost, and center-back, Abdullah Shah.

Zain addition to the squad adds to the growing presence of Pakistan-based footballers in the ACL.

Previously, left-back Junaid Shah secured a contract with Paktia Wahidi FC, where he will represent them in league matches and various cup competitions.

Shayek Dost’s defensive prowess, showcased during his signing in December, has been a boon for Pakistani football.

His seamless integration into the team dynamics, alongside Junaid Shah, has bolstered defensive strategies, notably during matches against Cambodia.

Abu Muslim FC’s decision to enlist Dost stems from defensive challenges encountered in the previous season of the ACL, where they narrowly missed out on the championship title due to defensive lapses.
