The Punjab Health Department has formed an inquiry committee to investigate alleged financial irregularities at Services Hospital Lahore.

The committee, led by Tania Malik and including Jawad Malik, will examine the purchase and sale of goods from 2022 to 2024.

The Medical Superintendent, Director of Finance, and Cashier will be required to respond to the inquiry committee, which has been given seven days to submit its recommendations to the health department.

Background:

Last year, a junior clerk named Arshad Butt at Services Hospital Lahore was discovered to be a millionaire, despite earning a monthly salary of just Rs57,000.

An investigation revealed that he had secured his position using fake degrees and had engaged in suspicious transactions totaling Rs11 million in less than a year.

He also owned commercial property and had set up a private laboratory near the hospital.
