Punjab Arrest Farmers’ Leaders Amid Wheat Procurement Crisis
Tensions are running high in Punjab as authorities have arrested several farmers, including two prominent leaders, amid the ongoing wheat procurement crisis.
The Kisan Ittehad, a farmers’ alliance, has called for a sit-in protest outside the Punjab Assembly today, which has drawn farmers from multiple cities to Lahore in solidarity.
Despite delays caused by the arrests, Khalid Hussain, Central Chairman of the Kisan Ittehad, remains determined to lead the farmers’ caravan to the Punjab Assembly from different routes.
