Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Reveal Controversial Design Changes
Recent leaks of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 have revealed a controversial redesign of the rear camera module.
The leaks, which come from reliable tipster Ice Universe (via SamMobile), show a ridged design around the individual camera lenses, with black plastic replacing the metal trim used on the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
This aesthetic has been described as “cheap and completely out of place” on a flagship phone.

Design Changes
The leaks also reveal that the camera islands on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be larger compared to the Fold 5, with noticeable new rings encircling them.
The design is similar to that of last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 5, but with a less prominent oval-shaped island beneath the cameras.
The corner angles of the phone resemble Samsung’s recent Ultras from the Galaxy S series, and the camera island design is characteristic of Samsung devices.
Specs and Launch Date
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be officially unveiled in July at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event, where it will likely share the stage with other devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Watch 7 series, and Galaxy Ring.
The phone is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and between 12 to 16 GB of RAM.
The inner screen will measure 7.6 inches diagonally, and the phone will have a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP telephoto lens, plus a 10MP selfie camera and 4MP under-display camera.
Rumors and Controversy
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra and Slim may launch later this year or in early 2025, according to rumors.
Some fans are excited about the upgrade, but others are disappointed with the lack of innovation in the design.
The phone’s resemblance to Samsung’s recent Ultras from the Galaxy S series has been noted, and some fans are hoping for a more daring design.
The controversy surrounding the design changes has sparked a debate among fans, with some defending the design as sleek and stylish, while others see it as unoriginal and boring.
