AMD has officially launched its latest Ryzen 9000 series desktop CPUs, codenamed Granite Ridge, featuring up to 16 cores and notable performance upgrades.

The Zen 5 architecture offers a 16% improvement in IPC and enhanced L2 and L3 cache structuring, making it a formidable competitor to Intel’s Core i9-14900K.

The Ryzen 9000 family includes four processors: Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X.

AMD claims the Ryzen 9 9950X outperforms the Intel Core i9-14900K by 56% in productivity and 23% in gaming, thanks to reduced latencies.

The Zen 5 architecture also brings AI performance upgrades, expected to deliver up to 20% acceleration with large language models.

While pricing has not been disclosed, the Ryzen 9000 series is anticipated to be priced similarly to the Ryzen 7000 family, ranging from $299 to $699 for the flagship model.
