Pakistan Navy Chief Meets Azerbaijan’s Military Leadership
Pakistan Navy Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf met with senior military and naval officials in Azerbaijan during an official visit, aimed at strengthening bilateral naval cooperation and enhancing regional maritime security.
Upon arrival at the Azerbaijan Naval Forces Headquarters, Admiral Ashraf was warmly received with a guard of honour in a formal welcome ceremony.

He then held a series of key meetings, starting with a discussion with First Grade Captain Shahin Mammadov, Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces.
The two leaders discussed opportunities for increasing naval collaboration, particularly through joint exercises and training exchange programmes.
Admiral Ashraf underscored the importance of fostering regional maritime stability, stating, “The Pakistan Navy is committed to improving cooperation and ensuring a secure maritime environment.”
A key part of Admiral Ashraf’s visit was a detailed briefing on the operational readiness and training programmes of the Azerbaijan Navy.
He also visited the Special Operations Forces unit of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces, where he witnessed an operational demonstration.
In a separate meeting, Admiral Ashraf met Colonel General Karim Valiyev, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army.
They discussed various issues of mutual interest, particularly regarding opportunities to enhance bilateral defence cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
To pay tribute to Azerbaijan’s national heroes, the Pakistan Navy Chief also visited the Alley of Martyrs, where he laid a wreath in honour of those who had fallen in service to the nation.
