Trump Plan Suggests US Taking Control of Gaza, Displacing Palestinians
Washington – The Trump administration is reportedly considering a plan that would see the entire population of Gaza relocated while the United States assumes control of the territory under a decade-long trusteeship, the Washington Post reported Sunday.
According to the report, the initiative envisions transforming war-torn Gaza — reduced to rubble after Israel’s military campaign in response to the 2023 Hamas attack — into a tourism resort and high-tech hub, aligning with Donald Trump’s earlier remarks about making it the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

The 38-page prospectus outlining the plan calls for relocating Gaza’s two million residents either abroad or into “secured zones” inside the enclave during reconstruction. Landowners would receive digital tokens in exchange for development rights, redeemable for apartments in six to eight future “AI-powered smart cities” planned for Gaza.
The proposed administrative body, to be called the Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation (GREAT) Trust, is said to involve Israeli figures who also set up the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, criticized by aid groups and the UN.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the proposal, it has drawn sharp criticism from Arab and European states. The U.S. State Department has not commented on the reported deliberations.
