TikToker Drowns While Filming Video in Flooded Chenab

MANDI BAHAUDDIN: A young TikToker drowned in the floodwaters of the River Chenab while attempting to record a video, police said on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Owais, was a resident of Chak Abdullah in the Qadirabad police precinct. He had over 164,000 followers and 1.16 million likes on TikTok, according to police.

Officials said TikToker Owais often ventured into deep floodwater to make videos in an effort to increase his following. His recent clips, shot during the ongoing floods, had garnered hundreds of thousands of views and likes.

Rescue 1122 personnel retrieved the body and handed it over to the family.
