Zardari Travels on China’s High-Speed Train

CHENGDU: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday travelled from Chengdu to Mianyang on China’s high-speed electric train equipped with an earthquake warning system, completing the journey in just 30 minutes.

During the trip, he was briefed on the train’s operations, services and safety features.

President Zardari described the environment-friendly electric train and the quake warning system as a “marvel of engineering”, saying China’s innovation served as a lesson for Pakistan and other nations.

He was accompanied by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla. Upon arrival in Mianyang, Vice Mayor Wu Hao received the president.
