Four terrorists killed in Khuzdar IBO, says ISPR
RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed four terrorists linked with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on Sept 17 after reports about the presence of militants in the area.
“During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralised,” the statement read.
The ISPR added that a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered. The slain militants were said to be involved in several terrorist activities in the region.
A sanitisation operation was under way to clear the area of any remaining militants, the statement said, reiterating that security forces were committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country.
The Khuzdar IBO comes days after five terrorists of the same group were killed in the district on Sept 14 and 15.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, told the Security Council during a briefing on Afghanistan that multiple terrorist entities, including the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Majeed Brigade, continued to operate from sanctuaries across the border.

Anti-terror operations have intensified amid a renewed wave of violence in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, both of which share a porous 2,500-kilometre frontier with Afghanistan.
The country has repeatedly urged Kabul’s Taliban rulers to prevent their soil from being used by groups such as the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), militant violence saw a sharp escalation in August, with incidents rising by 74 per cent compared to July. The think tank documented 194 fatalities from militant attacks during the month.
