Pakistan and Tajikistan to Jointly Celebrate “Tajikistan Culture Week” in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Tajikistan have announced the joint celebration of “Tajikistan Culture Week” in Islamabad, aimed at strengthening the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between the two brotherly nations.
The week-long festival will be organized in collaboration with the Ministries of Culture of both countries, the Embassy of Tajikistan, Lok Virsa, and the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).
The cultural event will feature a variety of attractions, including traditional performances, an art exhibition, music and dance shows, a film festival, and a food festival showcasing the rich heritage of both nations.
Tajik Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Turali met Federal Minister for Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi to discuss preparations for the event. During the meeting, the Tajik envoy proposed organizing a Gala Night in Lahore, where Tajik and Pakistani artists would perform together.
The ambassador also announced the screening of two historical and cultural films from Tajikistan, highlighting the country’s artistic heritage. He noted that the people of Tajikistan hold deep admiration for the poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi said that enhanced cultural cooperation would further strengthen people-to-people connections and promote mutual understanding between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The final dates for Tajikistan Culture Week will be announced following the conclusion of Lok Mela 2025. The event is expected to serve as a vibrant celebration of art, friendship, and shared heritage between the two countries.
