PSL 2026 likely to run from March to May with 60 matches across six cities
LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) and franchise representatives are set to hold an important meeting in Lahore on Thursday to discuss the format and schedule for PSL 2026, sources confirmed.
According to details, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited all six franchise representatives to attend the meeting in person at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The session will serve as a follow-up to last week’s virtual meeting between the PSL management and franchise officials.
Discussions will focus on the tournament format, scheduling, and logistical arrangements, particularly following the inclusion of two new teams in the upcoming edition.
With the expansion to eight teams, PSL 2026 is expected to feature 56 league matches followed by four playoffs. Each team will play 14 league matches on a home-and-away basis. The top four teams at the end of the league stage will qualify for the playoffs.

In the first ten editions, the tournament featured six teams and a total of 34 matches. The upcoming event marks a major step in PSL’s evolution as Pakistan’s premier T20 league.
Matches of PSL 2026 are expected to be held across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Faisalabad. The PCB has officially announced Peshawar and Faisalabad as two new host venues for the event.
Like the 2025 season, PSL 2026 is tentatively scheduled between March and May, although the final dates are yet to be confirmed.
The expanded schedule, featuring around 60 matches, will require a minimum seven-week window, sources added.
