PM Shehbaz Meets King of Bahrain, Awarded Country’s Highest Honour
Manama: The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, met His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain in Manama today, reaffirming the strong and historic partnership between the two brotherly nations.
During the meeting, the King conferred upon the Prime Minister the Order of Bahrain (first class), the kingdom’s highest award for foreign Heads of State and Government. PM Shehbaz Sharif thanked His Majesty for the warm hospitality and commended Bahrain’s longstanding support, including the establishment of King Hamad University for Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences in Islamabad.
Both leaders reviewed the positive momentum in bilateral relations and agreed to further strengthen cooperation in political, economic, defence, and cultural sectors. The Prime Minister highlighted the potential for expanding trade, supported by the Pakistan–GCC Free Trade Agreement, and invited Bahraini investors to explore opportunities in food security, IT, construction, mining, tourism, and healthcare.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged Bahrain’s support for the over 150,000-strong Pakistani community in the kingdom and expressed gratitude for the release of Pakistani prisoners.

In defence and security, both nations reaffirmed their commitment to joint training, logistics, manpower development, and defence production. The leaders also discussed the recent developments in Gaza, agreeing on the urgent need for peace and stability for its people.
The meeting concluded with confidence that the visit would further consolidate enduring friendship and cooperation, and His Majesty hosted a banquet in honor of the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation.
