ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship SAIF continued its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations on Saturday in areas of Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo devastated by Cyclone Ditwah, with relief efforts entering their second day.

According to the Pakistan Navy, the ship’s embarked Z9EC helicopter carried out multiple missions over severely flood-affected parts of Colombo and nearby regions, delivering essential food items and emergency supplies to families stranded in submerged residential localities that remain inaccessible by road.

Operating in coordination with Sri Lankan authorities, the helicopter focused on areas where rising water levels have cut off ground access, ensuring that life-saving aid reached vulnerable communities.

PNS SAIF, currently on an overseas deployment to Sri Lanka, will continue relief operations in the coming days to support the local population as the country grapples with the aftermath of the powerful cyclone.
