FBI foils bomb plot targeting ICE agents in California
WASHINGTON: The FBI has foiled a bomb plot targeting multiple sites, including immigration agents and vehicles, in Los Angeles and Orange County, Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Monday.
According to Bondi, a group calling itself the Turtle Island Liberation Front was allegedly preparing a series of bombings in California beginning on New Year’s Eve. The group was described as far-left, pro-Palestine, anti-government and anti-capitalist, with plans to target ICE agents and vehicles.
Four individuals have been charged with conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device, according to a complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The accused were identified as Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Gaffield and Tina Lai.
The complaint states that the alleged plan involved planting explosive devices at five locations at midnight on New Year’s Eve, targeting two US companies in the Los Angeles area.

According to a sworn statement, Carroll in November presented an eight-page handwritten document titled Operation Midnight Sun to a paid confidential source, outlining the bombing plot. Investigators say Carroll and Page later recruited Gaffield and Lai to assist in executing the plan.
The statement further alleges that the group acquired bomb-making materials and travelled to a remote location in the Mojave Desert, where they attempted to construct and detonate test explosive devices on December 12, 2025.
FBI agents intervened before the suspects were able to assemble a functional explosive device, preventing the planned attacks.
