Eight terrorists killed in IBO in Kalat: ISPR

Security forces recover weapons and explosives during operation in Kalat district

RAWALPINDI: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district of Balochistan on December 24 and killed eight terrorists belonging to an Indian proxy group, Fitna al Hindustan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to ISPR, the operation was carried out on reported presence of terrorists in the area of Kalat. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout, and after an intense exchange of fire, eight Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed.

The military’s media wing said weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.

ISPR added that sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists present in the area.

The statement said the security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
