Two-day free eye camp held in Nandarkah, hundreds benefit

Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi and OGDCL provide free check-ups, medicines, glasses and surgeries

NANDARKAH: A two-day free eye camp was successfully organised in Nandarkah on December 27 and 28, 2025, through the joint efforts of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi and OGDCL, setting a strong example of humanitarian service in the area.

During the camp, specialist doctors conducted free eye examinations for hundreds of patients. Facilities including complete eye check-ups, free medicines and prescription glasses were provided, while deserving patients also underwent free eye surgeries. Residents from Nandarkah and surrounding villages benefited in large numbers from the initiative.

The overall supervision and administrative management of the camp were carried out under the leadership of Deputy General Manager Dr Hassan of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi. Owing to his professional expertise and effective planning, the camp was conducted in an organised and efficient manner.

The efforts of Kamran Hamid were widely appreciated, as his dedication and commitment played a key role in turning the welfare initiative into reality. Administrative support and discipline were ensured by former councillor Abdul Naeem Khan, Abdul Hameed, Muhammad Haqiq, Abrar Ahmed, Mujahid Nazir, Jannat Khan, Sadiq Hussain, Hamid Nawaz, Fawad Khan, Ejaz Khan and Raziq Khan.

A team of experienced doctors from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi, including Dr Muhammad Arif, Dr Tahir Zaman, Dr Ame Hani, Dr Usman Khan, Rana Usman, Shoaib and Muhammad Hassan, provided medical services and contributed to the success of the camp.

Local residents highly appreciated the joint welfare initiative of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi and OGDCL. A special prayer was offered at the conclusion of the camp for the acceptance of this noble effort and for the continuation of similar welfare projects in the future.
