Pak Army major martyred, five terrorists killed in Bajaur IBO: ISPR
Rawalpindi: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Khar in Bajaur district on December 29, killing five Indian-sponsored Khwarij, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Monday.
According to ISPR, the Bajaur operation was conducted on reports about the presence of Khwarij belonging to Fitna al Khwarij, described as an Indian proxy. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militants, resulting in the killing of five terrorists.
However, during an intense exchange of fire, Major Adeel Zaman, aged 36 and a resident of Dera Ismail Khan district, embraced martyrdom while leading his troops from the front. ISPR said the officer fought gallantly and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists, who, according to the military, were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as in the killing of innocent civilians.
ISPR said sanitisation operations were underway in the area to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khwarij. It added that the security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
