Four terrorists killed in intelligence-based operation in Kalat: ISPR
RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kalat district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted on January 12 on reported presence of terrorists affiliated with Indian proxy group “Fitna al Hindustan”. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout, resulting in an intense exchange of fire in which four Indian-sponsored terrorists were gunned down.
The ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the Kalat. It added that sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate any other terrorists present in the vicinity.
The military reiterated that the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue with full force to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in cross-border terrorist incidents since 2021, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Earlier this month, ISPR Director General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that law enforcement agencies conducted 75,175 intelligence-based operations across the country in 2025.

He stated that 14,658 IBOs were carried out in KP, 58,778 in Balochistan, and 1,739 in other parts of the country. According to the ISPR, a total of 5,397 terrorism incidents were reported nationwide last year, with 3,811 in KP, 1,557 in Balochistan, and 29 elsewhere.
The military said that 2,597 terrorists were killed during counterterrorism operations in 2025, adding that civilians and soft targets were deliberately targeted in major attacks, with Afghan militants involved in all such incidents.
