Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Qasim Khan Suri has revealed that he is currently driving an Uber in the United States to earn an honest living, saying dignity lies in lawful labour even when circumstances force unexpected choices.

Speaking to the media, Qasim Khan Suri said he is facing severe financial difficulties after his local bank accounts were blocked, leaving him with limited options for income. He admitted that he never imagined he would be driving a ride-hailing vehicle after serving in a high political office.

However, he stressed that he chose honest work over compromising his principles.

“I chose to stay honest instead of taking the easy way out,” he said, adding that integrity and self-respect matter more than wealth or status.

His remarks have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many users praising his stance. Supporters commented that earning through rizq-e-halal is something to be proud of, while others noted that dignity remains in honest work regardless of changing times.

Despite personal and financial challenges, Suri reaffirmed his loyalty to his political ideals, saying his commitment to justice and political rights in Pakistan remains unchanged.
