RAWALPINDI: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat district on the night of February 18/19, 2026, on reported presence of Khwarij belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the military’s media wing, troops effectively engaged the militants’ location in Lakki Marwat and, after an intense exchange of fire, four Khwarij were killed.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain militants, who were said to be actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

The ISPR said a sanitisation operation is underway to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored militants found in the district.

The statement added that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
