Women’s Ramadan Sahulat Bazar hosts special event in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: A special event was held on Sunday at the Women’s Ramadan Sahulat Bazar established in Sector G-11 of the federal capital to mark International Women’s Day.
The event was organised jointly by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The initiative aimed to highlight the business capabilities of women and provide them opportunities to move towards economic independence and empowerment.
A large number of women customers, traders and businesswomen participated in the event organised in Islamabad.
Officials said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a completely cashless system was introduced at the Women’s Ramadan Sahulat Bazar.
Special arrangements were also made to encourage women entrepreneurs who displayed their products at various stalls designated exclusively for women.
The bazaar has been organised in collaboration with the Women Chamber of Commerce and will continue operating in Sector G-11 until Eid-ul-Fitr.

Women traders and business figures welcomed the initiative by the CDA and MCI, saying such opportunities play an important role in promoting women’s economic independence.
Businesswoman Shazia Imran said organic, natural and chemical-free food items along with other products were available at the women’s bazaar.
Vice President of the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rabia Farhan said the bazaar organised in collaboration with CDA and MCI was like a gift for women on International Women’s Day and provided significant business opportunities.
Customers expressed hope that the authorities would continue organising similar events regularly to support women’s empowerment.
The CDA administration said a strict monitoring system had been implemented for price control at the bazaar, similar to other Ramadan Sahulat bazaars.
Officials added that under the direction of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the Women’s Ramadan Bazar in Sector G-11 has been equipped with modern facilities for both women consumers and traders, where essential food items and other commodities are available at reasonable prices.
Authorities said the establishment of a dedicated bazaar for women in the federal capital would prove to be a milestone for women’s economic wellbeing.
