Mojtaba Khamenei recently succeeded his father, Ali Khamenei, after he was killed along with several senior Iranian officials in joint strikes by the United States and Israel that began on February 28.

The younger Khamenei, who is believed to have been injured in the strikes, has not appeared publicly since but released his first statement on Thursday.

In addition to Khamenei, the US is seeking information about several other senior figures, including security chief Ali Larijani, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni
