CDA chief reviews progress on police academy, Safe City expansion in Islamabad

Sohail Ashraf directs timely completion with high construction standards

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sohail Ashraf on Monday visited multiple key development sites in the federal capital, including the under-construction National Police Academy Islamabad, the Elite Police School Islamabad, and the expansion of the Islamabad Safe City Project.

He was accompanied by Inspector General Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and other senior officials during the visit.

During the inspection of the National Police Academy, officials briefed the chairman on construction progress, stating that work on the nine-storey building is advancing rapidly and has entered its final stages across all floors. Finishing work is also underway alongside construction.

The academy is expected to include modern training facilities aimed at enhancing the professional capabilities of police personnel.

Ashraf directed authorities to expedite the remaining work while ensuring high-quality standards in both construction and finishing. He stressed the importance of equipping the facility with state-of-the-art training infrastructure.

Later, the CDA chief reviewed developments at the Islamabad Safe City Project expansion, where officials informed him that the initiative is being upgraded on modern lines to strengthen surveillance and security systems in the capital.

At the Elite Police School, he was briefed on the construction of specialised training infrastructure, including rappelling towers and obstacle courses designed to improve operational readiness.

Reiterating his directives, Ashraf emphasised that all projects must be completed within stipulated timelines while maintaining strict quality standards.
