Attock Refinery resumes fuel supply after restoring operations
ISLAMABAD: Attock Refinery Limited has resumed the supply of petrol and diesel across the country after restoring operations that were temporarily halted due to disruptions in crude oil supply.
In a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the refinery confirmed that production and delivery of petroleum products are now fully operational.
The disruption had forced ARL to shut down its main crude distillation unit, halting production of around 32,400 barrels per day.
The shutdown occurred after oil tanker movement was suspended due to road closures in Islamabad, imposed as part of security arrangements for expected foreign delegations.
The restrictions disrupted both the inflow of crude oil and the dispatch of refined products, resulting in a buildup of fuel stocks at the refinery while market supplies tightened.

As the only refinery serving northern Pakistan, ARL plays a key role in supplying fuel to central and northern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, along with providing aviation fuel for Islamabad and Peshawar airports.
With tanker movement restored and crude supply resumed, the refinery has restarted its main unit and informed relevant authorities and stakeholders.
The resumption is expected to ease concerns over potential fuel shortages and stabilise petroleum supply across affected regions.
