Pakistan condemns drone attacks on Saudi Arabia, reaffirms support for kingdom

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday strongly condemned the drone attacks carried out against the Saudi Arabia, terming them a serious breach of the kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the attacks appear to be an attempt to further destabilise regional peace and security, stressing that such actions are unacceptable under international law.

Reaffirming close fraternal ties, Pakistan expressed full solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people during what it described as a critical time.

“Pakistan stands firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirms its unwavering support for its security, peace, and prosperity,” the statement added.

The condemnation comes as Reuters reported that Pakistan has deployed 8,000 troops, a squadron of fighter jets and an air defence system to Saudi Arabia under a mutual defence pact.

However, neither Saudi authorities nor Pakistani officials have confirmed the reported deployment.

Earlier, on September 17, 2025, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement” in Riyadh under which any attack on either country would be treated as aggression against both states.

The agreement was described by both sides as a commitment to strengthening security cooperation and promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

“This agreement aims to develop aspects of defence cooperation between the two countries and strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression,” the statement said.
