Momina Iqbal accuses PML-N lawmaker of harassment and death threats
Actor and model Momina Iqbal on Friday approached police in Lahore seeking the registration of a first information report against Saqib Chadhar over allegations of harassment, blackmail and death threats.
According to an application submitted at Chung Police Station, Iqbal alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker had repeatedly contacted her and her fiancé while issuing threats.
The actor claimed the MPA began using abusive language after she rejected his marriage proposal upon learning that he was already married to two women.
Iqbal further alleged that following her refusal, the lawmaker resorted to blackmail and continued harassment through WhatsApp messages and video calls.
She also stated that threatening messages had been sent to her sister’s phone.
Reports said the actor visited the police station accompanied by her legal team and briefed Station House Officer Faheem Imdad about the matter.
In a separate statement posted on social media, Maryam Nawaz said any attempt to use political influence, pressure or intimidation in the case would face “firm and uncompromising action”.

The Punjab chief minister described the matter as a personal issue and said it would be addressed strictly on merit and in accordance with the law.
Earlier, in a social media post tagging the PML-N leadership, Momina Iqbal alleged that she had been facing online harassment, cyberbullying and death threats for an extended period.
She claimed that repeated complaints submitted to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency and the Federal Investigation Agency had not resulted in action.
Iqbal further alleged that attempts were made to discourage her from pursuing the matter and to suppress her complaints instead of allowing a transparent investigation.
Police authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the registration of a case or any legal action against the accused lawmaker.
