Pakistan Army wins top honours at international military competition in UK

PMA team secures overall championship and individual awards at prestigious Sandhurst event

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army team, represented by the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), secured first position at the International Pacesticking Competition 2026 held at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PMA contingent delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a clean sweep of the competition by winning all major honours. The Pakistani team claimed the Overall Team Trophy, while also securing the Best Pace Sticker and Best Driver awards.

The nine-member Pakistan Army team was led by Major Haider Gulzar, Adjutant of the Pakistan Military Academy, and arrived in the United Kingdom on June 5 to participate in the annual international event.

A total of 16 teams representing various armies from around the world competed in the prestigious military competition, which is regarded as a demonstration of precision drill, discipline, coordination and leadership skills among military academies and armed forces.

The ISPR said the remarkable achievement reflects the high standards of professional training, discipline and excellence maintained by Pakistan’s Armed Forces. The military’s media wing noted that the success of the PMA team highlights the dedication, commitment and professionalism of Pakistan Army personnel on the international stage.

The victory further reinforces the reputation of the Pakistan Military Academy and the Pakistan Army in international military competitions, showcasing the institution’s ability to produce highly trained officers capable of competing successfully against leading military teams from across the world.
