WEB DESK: The United Arab Emirates has lifted restrictions on its citizens travelling to Lebanon, allowing Emirati nationals to visit the country with immediate effect, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

According to the ministry, the decision came into effect on Monday as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations following a period of regional tensions that had led to temporary travel restrictions.

The ministry said all Emirati citizens travelling to Lebanon must register with the Twajudi emergency response service before departure.

Travellers will be required to provide details including their intended address in Lebanon, purpose of travel and emergency contact information. Authorities warned that passengers who fail to complete the registration process will not be allowed to depart from UAE airports and could face legal consequences.

The ministry added that Emirati citizens already in Lebanon or those travelling through third countries must also register with the service and update their travel information when necessary.

Officials said the mandatory registration system is intended to ensure the safety and well-being of UAE nationals while travelling abroad.

The latest decision follows travel restrictions imposed in April 2026 due to security concerns arising from regional developments.

A previous long-term travel ban on Lebanon had been lifted in May 2025 after diplomatic engagement between the two countries, including a visit by the Lebanese president to the UAE.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised citizens travelling to Lebanon to remain cautious and continue following official travel advisories throughout their stay.
