IED blast near Mastung bridge damages road, no casualties reported
QUETTA: An improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unidentified individuals exploded near Spizand Bridge in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Friday morning, partially damaging the adjoining road but causing no casualties, police said.
According to police, the blast occurred at around 8am near the bridge. While the bridge remained intact, a section of the nearby road was partially damaged.
Police, bomb disposal teams and other law enforcement personnel reached the scene shortly after the explosion, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
Investigators collected evidence from the site to determine the nature of the blast and identify those responsible.
Officials said no vehicles or pedestrians were passing through the area when the explosion occurred, preventing any loss of life or injuries.

Following the incident, security forces increased patrols and strengthened surveillance in surrounding areas.
Authorities said investigations were underway from multiple angles and vowed to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.
