CTD arrests two suspected BLA militants in Karachi
KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two suspected militants affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) during an operation in Karachi, alleging that they were involved in gathering intelligence on sensitive installations and planning attacks against law enforcement agencies.
According to CTD Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Bahadur, the suspects were taken into custody during a targeted operation.
Officials said four kilogrammes of explosives, detonators and ball bearings were recovered from their possession.
The CTD alleged that the suspects had received reconnaissance and communications training at a BLA camp.
According to officials, the two men had been residing in Karachi and were allegedly transmitting information about sensitive installations to the banned outfit.
