South Air launches domestic flight operations from Karachi

KARACHI: Private domestic airline South Air launched its scheduled regional flight operations on Thursday from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, marking an expansion of the airport’s domestic connectivity, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

The airline commenced its services with scheduled flights from Karachi to Islamabad and Quetta, while operations to Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Gwadar are expected to begin in the coming weeks.

According to the PAA, South Air will initially operate one weekly flight on the Karachi-Turbat route and three weekly flights between Karachi and Bahawalpur, with plans to further expand its domestic network.

Officials said the launch of the new airline’s services would strengthen Jinnah International Airport’s domestic flight operations and improve air connectivity between Karachi and several major cities across the country.
