FBR Suffers Rs 53 Billion Revenue Shortfall in April 2024

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has faced a significant revenue shortfall of Rs 53 billion in April 2024, according to provisional figures.

The FBR collected Rs 654 billion against the assigned target of Rs 707 billion, showing a shortfall of 7.5%.

This revenue shortfall is a concern for the government, which is already facing financial challenges.

The board has collected Rs 7,366 billion during the period of July-April (2023-24) against the assigned revenue collection target of Rs 7,414 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs 48 billion.

The FBR is working to identify the reasons for the shortfall and take corrective measures to achieve the revenue targets. The government is also exploring ways to increase revenue collection and reduce the deficit.
