Weekly Volatility
The bullion market has witnessed sharp swings this week. On Wednesday, prices fell by Rs1,400 per tola to Rs355,200 before rebounding the next day, only to dip again on Friday.
Analysts attributed the volatility to shifts in the US dollar’s strength and expectations over the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy. While jewellers noted that demand typically rises ahead of the wedding season, buyers have remained cautious amid the fluctuations. Investors, however, continue to treat gold as a safe-haven asset despite short-term corrections.
