Coal Mine Explosion Traps Six Miners in Karam, Four Rescued

Rescue Operation Underway to Locate Remaining Two Miners

A coal mine explosion in the Khawaida Khel area of Central Karam on Sunday trapped six miners, with four individuals rescued alive during the rescue operation.

The Deputy Commissioner of the region, Javedullah Mehsud, confirmed that the rescue operation is ongoing to locate and save the remaining two individuals.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the explosion remains unknown, as an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

This incident comes as a grim reminder of the Shahrag coal field area explosion in 2022, which claimed the lives of six coal miners.

Previous Incident in Harnai District

In 2022, a gas explosion in the Shahrag coal field area of Harnai district resulted in the deaths of six laborers.

The incident occurred in the mine of contractor Haji Dilawar Khan in Shahrg Tarkh Tung, where coal was being extracted.

The laborers were identified as Naseeb Gul, Sarfraz, Najeebullah, Rehman Ullah, Ghani Rehman, and Bacha Khan, all from the Shangla area of Swat.

Chief Minister Orders Investigation

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo took notice of the coal mine explosion incident at Karam and ordered an investigation into the tragic incident.
