Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), forecast another round of heavy rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms within next twelve hours.

According to PMD, regions including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper/southwestern Balochistan are expected to experience severe weather conditions.

The Pakistan Met Office has issued warnings, indicating the likelihood of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms across these areas.

This weather phenomenon is attributed to a potent westerly wave sweeping across the country, expected to persist for the next 36 hours.

Furthermore, the PMD’s weekly forecast extends to upper/southwest Sindh, where rain with thunderstorms is anticipated on April 18 and 19, signaling a continuation of unsettled weather patterns.

In light of these forecasts, it’s crucial for residents and authorities in the affected regions to take necessary precautions.

Pay close attention, especially in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and other weather-related hazards. Travelers, too, are urged to exercise caution and stay updated on weather advisories for their safety during journeys.
