Iran and Pakistan Revive Talks to Complete Gas Pipeline Project
Iran and Pakistan are rekindling efforts to complete the long-delayed gas pipeline project, aimed at supplying natural gas from Iran to Pakistan.
Iranian Consul General to Pakistan, Hassan Nourian, announced that both countries are exploring ways to move forward with the project, citing political determination from Pakistan to complete it.

The 1,900-kilometer gas pipeline, signed in 2010, was intended to supply up to one billion cubic feet per day of natural gas for 25 years to meet Pakistan’s energy needs.
However, work on Pakistan’s side has been held up due to the threat of US sanctions.
Iran has already invested $2 billion on the pipeline on its territory, while Pakistan has yet to start construction.

With the deadline for completion approaching in September, industry watchers warn that Iran may take Pakistan to international court if it fails to meet its obligations.
Nourian emphasized that the pipeline does not fall under international restrictions and that discussions are ongoing to resolve the issue.
