Iran’s Mahan Air Launches Direct Flight Operations to Islamabad
Islamabad: Iranian airline Mahan Air has officially launched its direct flight operations to Islamabad, marking a new chapter in air connectivity between Pakistan and Iran.
The inaugural Mahan Air flight arrived in Islamabad from Tehran with 97 passengers on board. Upon arrival, Chief Operating Officer of Islamabad International Airport, Aftab Gillani, warmly received the passengers and airline officials.
A simple yet graceful ceremony was held at the Islamabad International Airport to mark the occasion. The event was attended by the Chief Security Officer of the Airport Security Force (ASF), representatives of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, and officials from Mahan Air.
According to airline management, Mahan Air will operate two direct weekly flights between Tehran and Islamabad.
Officials stated that the launch of the new flight operation will not only facilitate passenger travel between the two neighboring countries but also promote tourism, enhance trade, and increase foreign exchange inflows.
Speaking at the ceremony, COO Aftab Gillani said that the new air link will strengthen people-to-people connections and contribute to the growth of business and tourism activities between Pakistan and Iran.
The event concluded as the outbound flight departed for Tehran with 264 passengers on board, marking the successful start of regular operations.
