ISLAMABAD: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani has called for stronger bilateral ties with Pakistan, emphasizing that enhanced cooperation between the two neighboring countries is essential for ensuring regional peace and stability.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Islamabad on Tuesday, Larijani described Pakistan as an important and influential country with a key role in shaping regional security dynamics. He said the deep historical and cultural relations between Tehran and Islamabad provide a strong foundation for further strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.

He noted that changing regional conditions require closer collaboration and expressed hope that his scheduled meetings with senior Pakistani political and military leadership during his two-day visit would help address key bilateral and regional issues.

Larijani said discussions during his visit will focus on reviewing Iran-Pakistan relations, implementation of existing agreements, and regional and international developments, including issues affecting the Islamic world.
