Pakistan and Saudi Arabia sign Historic MoU on Anti-Corruption Cooperation

JEDDAH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in combating corruption, money laundering, and the recovery of illegal assets.

The agreement was signed in Jeddah between Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha). Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration through information sharing, mutual legal assistance, and capacity building in anti-corruption efforts.

The MoU has been hailed as a milestone in promoting mutual legal cooperation and advancing transparency and accountability between the two brotherly nations.

President of Nazaha, Mazeen Al-Kahmous, lauded NAB’s performance and commended Pakistan’s achievements in anti-corruption reforms, which have resulted in recoveries exceeding PKR 6.4 trillion.

NAB Chairman Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmad praised Saudi leadership’s firm stance against corruption and emphasized that bilateral cooperation in defense and accountability will further strengthen Pakistan–Saudi relations.

The NAB Chairman also extended an invitation to the President of Nazaha to visit Pakistan to further deepen institutional collaboration between the two countries.
