PIA Cabin Crew Member Reportedly Missing in Canada

Senior flight steward fails to report for return duty from Toronto to Lahore

ISALAMABAD: A senior flight steward of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Asif Najam, has reportedly gone missing in Canada.

According to PIA administration, Asif Najam arrived in Toronto from Lahore on November 16 as part of his duty on an international flight. He was scheduled to operate the return flight to Lahore on November 19 but failed to report for duty.

When contacted, he initially cited illness as the reason for not reporting. However, later he could not be reached, prompting PIA to inform the Canada police about his disappearance.

PIA confirmed that Asif Najam did not show up for duty on flight PK-798 from Toronto to Lahore. The matter is currently under investigation.

The PIA spokesperson said that if it is confirmed that the flight steward has gone missing illegally, departmental action will be initiated against him according to service rules.
