PN Rescues Stranded Sri Lankan Family Amid Severe Flooding
ISLAMABAD: As part of ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations in Sri Lanka, the Pakistan Navy successfully rescued a stranded family trapped for five days on the rooftop of their flooded home in the Kotikawatta area.
During a search and rescue mission, the Z-9 helicopter embarked on Pakistan Navy Ship Saif located the family, which included a 7-month-old baby, and safely evacuated all members. The rescued individuals were later transported to a secure location in coordination with Sri Lankan authorities.

Officials said the operation reflects the Pakistan Navy’s high level of professionalism and its commitment to fulfilling international humanitarian responsibilities.
PNS Saif, currently deployed on an overseas mission to Sri Lanka, continues to support relief efforts as the country battles widespread flooding.
