Qatar to Host Talks on Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan
DOHA: Qatar on Tuesday announced it would host talks with Hamas negotiators and Turkish officials to discuss US President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan for Gaza.
Foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said the Hamas delegation had agreed to examine the proposal “responsibly” and that another meeting with Turkish participation was scheduled for later in the day.
“It is still too early to speak about responses, but we are truly optimistic that this plan, as we said, is a comprehensive one,” al-Ansari told reporters.
He also revealed that Qatar had received security assurances from the United States, along with a commitment from Israel not to carry out attacks against Qatar.

“The assurances offered in the call yesterday by President Trump and the Israeli prime minister were very clear… under the guarantee of the US president that Qatar will never be attacked,” he said.
Al-Ansari added that Israel had pledged not to target Qatar “again in its capacity or otherwise.”
According to reports, Hamas is currently reviewing the peace plan, which includes an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages within 72 hours, disarmament of Hamas, and a phased Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, followed by a transitional authority to be led by Trump. A Palestinian source said the group had launched internal consultations across its political and military leadership, both in Palestine and abroad.
