WWE legend Mark Callaway, better known as ‘The Undertaker’, recently opened up about the backlash he received from US Army veterans following his induction speech for Muhammad Ali into the WWE Hall of Fame.

During a podcast appearance on “Six Feet Under”, The Undertaker revealed that he faced criticism from some US Army Veterans who didn’t consider Muhammad Ali a patriotic figure due to his refusal to serve in the Vietnam War.

Ali had cited conscientious objector status and opposition to the war as reasons for not serving.

Callaway expressed understanding for Ali’s stance, despite initially resenting his decision. However, he faced accusations of treason and lack of patriotism from some military veterans.

The Undertaker also shared a heartwarming encounter with Muhammad Ali’s wife, Yolanda Williams, who spoke about the iconic boxer’s friendship with Elvis Presley.

Despite the backlash, Callaway expressed gratitude for the opportunity to induct Muhammad Ali into the WWE Hall of Fame, calling it an honor to deliver the induction speech.
