In a historic development, the University of Oxford has agreed to offer scholarships to students from Balochistan under the Benazir Scholarship Program.

The agreement was signed between Oxford University and the Government of Balochistan, marking a significant milestone in promoting higher education in the region.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti attended the signing ceremony, emphasizing that the scholarship will bridge the educational gap and empower talented students from Balochistan to pursue higher education at one of the world’s leading universities.

Bugti highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that it will connect local needs with global educational standards, address educational disparities, and enhance the linkage between local aspirations and international academic standards.

The scholarship program is expected to provide opportunities for talented Baloch students to pursue higher education at Oxford University, fostering educational transformation and empowerment of Balochistan’s youth.

Notable attendees at the event included Malala Yousafzai, Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Aamir Ibrahim, Mohammad Khishgi, Farooq Sheikh, and Prof. Kamal Munir.
