Punjab CM Launches Field Hospitals to Expand Healthcare Access
In a significant move to enhance healthcare infrastructure, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the province’s newly established field hospitals on Wednesday.
These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to provide essential medical services to remote areas lacking healthcare infrastructure.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of field hospitals in bridging the healthcare gap in rural areas.

“These facilities will bring health services to the doorstep of the people, ensuring that everyone has access to quality healthcare,” she said.
The field hospitals are equipped with all necessary amenities, including air conditioning, diagnostic units, laboratories, ultrasound, ECG, X-ray, and pharmacy facilities.
Additionally, they will offer services such as OPD, immunization, first aid, lady health workers, and school nutrition.
The Punjab government has plans to establish 32 field hospitals across the province, with a focus on rural areas.

This initiative is part of the government’s comprehensive efforts to revamp the healthcare sector, including the revamping of 2,500 Basic Health Units and 300 Rural Health Centres.
CM Maryam Nawaz also announced plans to launch the province’s first air ambulance service within the next two weeks, as well as the establishment of 200 mobile clinics for urban centers.
These initiatives aim to further expand healthcare access and ensure that quality medical services are available to all.
