LAHORE: Actor Saba Qamar is facing legal proceedings after a petition was filed seeking the registration of a case against her for allegedly wearing a police uniform without authorisation during a video shoot.

The petition was taken up by Additional Sessions Judge Ilyas Rehan, who heard initial arguments regarding a video circulating on social media. The petitioner, Wasim Zawar, contended that the actor Saba Qamar appeared in a dressing room wearing a police uniform with an SP rank badge, without obtaining prior permission from the relevant authorities.

According to the petitioner, the use of an official police uniform requires a no-objection certificate from police authorities, and wearing it without approval violates applicable rules. He told the court that he had earlier submitted an application to the Old Anarkali police station for the registration of a case, but no action was taken.

After hearing the preliminary arguments, the court adjourned the hearing until January 14.
