DUBAI: Renowned composer Sajid Khan has officially unveiled WASAKA, a bold new creative and live-entertainment venture aimed at reshaping the future of musical storytelling while honouring the timeless legacy of the celebrated Sajid–Wajid duo.

The announcement was made during a specially convened press conference attended by media, industry insiders, and leading voices from the entertainment fraternity. Sajid presented WASAKA as a groundbreaking artistic movement that blends heritage with global innovation, opening a transformative new chapter for the Sajid–Wajid musical philosophy.

Marking its debut, WASAKA introduced a powerful musical release featuring the Original Sabri Brothers Shabab Sabri and Danish Sabri, alongside Indian Idol star Salman Ali. The track merges the spiritual intensity of Sufi–Qawwali with contemporary emotion, reflecting the soulful musical essence of late composer Wajid Ali Khan.

WASAKA is designed to redefine the live-show experience through a never-seen-before format. The venture plans to present reimagined versions of iconic Sajid–Wajid hits for global audiences, refreshed classics with innovative soundscapes, and immersive large-scale concerts crafted to elevate musical storytelling. It will also spotlight emerging talent, particularly from the Middle East, fostering meaningful cross-cultural artistic exchange.

For more than three decades, Sajid–Wajid shaped Bollywood’s musical landscape with chart-topping anthems and unforgettable melodies. With WASAKA, that legacy evolves into a global platform connecting audiences across borders.

His music will never fade; it will only evolve,” he said.

Shabab Sabri called the collaboration an honour, saying it brings the raw power of Sufi–Qawwali with a modern vision. Danish Sabri added that WASAKA connects hearts across borders by blending heritage with innovation.

Salman Ali described the project as a milestone, saying working with Sajid Khan and the Sabri Brothers was an unforgettable experience that carries the unmatched spirit of the Sajid–Wajid legacy.
